Owl's Nest is named for Athena, the owl, partially blind because she was injured as a chick. She was hand-reared in the village and, from time to time, can be heard calling from the trees that shelter the annex.
Owl's Nest, like all the accommodation on this property, is fun and quirky. An original building, and part of an old whip factory, this annex has been restored in a way that retains much of the original features and character. A private space has been created in the courtyard of the main house, and like the other two cottages on the property, includes items that have been cleverly re-purposed.
Owl's Nest sleeps 1 in a generously-sized day-bed. There is a kitchenette which is separate from the bed-sit area, where the makings of tea and coffee are provided. Guests have access to the garden, swimming pool and braai area.
This is a non-smoking establishment, and small pets may be accommodated by prior arrangement.
The rate is R350 per night.
